From time to time even our super-duper mac systems need a helping hand. Have you ever had Illustrator crash on you repeatedly or refuse to save a file? Have you ever had your scanner crap out when it used to work just fine just 24 hours earlier? Well for these and a whole slew of problems there are some basic maintenance things we all need to do to keep our macs healthy. Here’s a few:

CacheOut
Cocktail

Repair Permissions–apps/utilities/disk utility/repair permissions

Zap PRAM–command + option + p + r (reset your preference memory)

Entourage–hold option key when starting the program (all other office apps are off) and you can rebuild your database file. Cool!

Hope this helps you keep your computer ship shape!
