I was inspired this morning by @alanparry asking about how to install WordPress plugins. In searching WordPress.tv I found this talk from WordCamp Orange County 2010 where some great plugins for your site are discussed. Check out the video, list, and slides url below for all the information. I use most of these but hadn’t heard of Tweeted yet. Going to use that one for sure!

The essential plugins are:

  • SEO SmartLinks, automatically link your tags or categories
  • Google XML Sitemaps
  • Yet Another Related Posts Plugin
  • Redirection
  • W3 Total Cache
  • WP Super Cache (use if your webhost doesn’t like W3 Total Cache)
  • Google Analytics
  • Tweeted (embed tweets from Twitter on a page)

Presentation slides available on the WPVibe website.
